Mary's Kitchen Towels has been printing custom tea towels on 100% flour sack cotton since 2006. Our customers include independent artists turning original illustrations into sellable merchandise, gift store buyers stocking souvenir collections, designers with wholesale accounts, and brands building a complete retail-ready product line.
We offer three distinct printing methods to suit different design styles, quantities, and budgets — all on the same premium flour sack cotton fabric, printed by our team with no third-party markups.
All three methods are handled by our team. Pick the method that fits your design and quantity — or mix methods across your order.
Designer Favorite
Full-surface coverage — your design prints across every inch of the towel with zero borders or blank margins. The fabric is printed first as a continuous roll, then cut to size and hemmed. Ideal for original illustrations, oil paintings, watercolors, and bold repeating patterns that need the full canvas.
Direct-to-fabric printing for detailed artwork, unlimited colors, and fine gradients. Printed in the tri-fold position — at the bottom third of the towel — so when folded and hung over an oven handle, the full design is visible without being cut off. Ink bonds directly into the flour sack cotton fibers with no surface layer to crack or peel. No minimum order.
Traditional silkscreen for bold logos, text, and solid-color designs. Ink is pressed deep into the cotton fiber — the most wash-durable method we offer, ideal for heavy commercial use. Up to 4 Pantone spot colors. Most cost-effective per unit for runs of 24 or more pieces.

Get a Wholesale QuoteEdge-to-edge starts at 25 pieces per design, screen print at ~24 pieces, and DTG has no minimum at all. Test a new design at low volume before scaling it up to a full wholesale order — without burning through your budget on guesses.
View Wholesale BlanksBoth use the same DTG (direct-to-fabric) printing technology. The difference is coverage and process. DTG prints in the tri-fold position — at the bottom third of a pre-finished, hemmed towel — so when folded and hung over an oven handle, the full 14″×16″ design is visible without being cut off. Edge-to-edge prints on the fabric as a continuous roll first — before the towel is cut or hemmed — which allows the design to cover every inch of the surface with zero borders or blank margins. Edge-to-edge has a 25-piece minimum; DTG has no minimum.
For DTG and screen printing, the most popular size is 27″×27″ — a classic square kitchen towel that works well for centered designs. For edge-to-edge, the most popular size is 19″×28″ — the rectangular format gives full-bleed artwork room to breathe and displays beautifully when folded. We offer additional sizes across all three methods — contact us if you're unsure which works best for your design.
All custom tea towels are printed on 100% flour sack cotton — a 130 thread-count diagonal weave that is flat, lint-free, highly absorbent, and excellent for printing. It's the same premium flour sack fabric we've sold and printed on since 2006. We are planning to add linen as an additional fabric option soon — contact us if you'd like to be notified when it becomes available.
DTG and screen printing take 2–3 weeks from proof approval to dispatch. Edge-to-edge printing takes 3–5 weeks from proof approval. All turnaround times start after you approve the digital proof — not from the date of order. We'll send your proof as quickly as possible after receiving your artwork file.
Send your file at 300 DPI or higher at the intended print size, in PDF, AI, EPS, PNG (with transparent background), or TIFF format. For screen printing, separate each color onto its own layer and include Pantone (PMS) color codes. For edge-to-edge designs, extend your artwork 1–2 inches beyond the final towel dimensions on all sides as a bleed. If you're unsure whether your file is ready, email it to us before ordering — we review all artwork for free.
Yes — we offer three branding and finishing options: loop screen printing (your brand printed on the hanging loop), custom labels and tags stitched onto the towel, and branded paper bands for retail packaging. Pricing: $0.50/piece per option, or $0.75/piece for any two options combined. Minimum total print order of 150 pieces. Contact us to add branding to your order.
Yes. Orders of 100+ pieces qualify for wholesale pricing — up to 40% off standard rates. Our low minimums (25 pcs for edge-to-edge, none for DTG) mean you can test a design before scaling up rather than committing to a large run upfront. Contact us for a custom quote based on your printing method, quantity, and design.
Yes — we offer custom printed samples with your own artwork so you can see exactly how your design prints on the flour sack fabric before committing to a full run. When you order a sample, you receive a $10 discount code toward your first full production order. Especially useful for artists and designers preparing for a new product launch or fair season.
